Raleigh-based band plays for first time since equipment was stolen - WWAYTV3
WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — When members of the Harvey Street band woke up at their hotel in Denver Monday morning, they discovered their trailer full of instruments and equipment had been stolen.
Thieves made off with over $27,000 worth of equipment.
On Friday night, the band played for the first time since then, performing at the Palm Room in Wrightsville Beach, where they used old or donated instruments from friends and family.
A Go-Fund-Me set up to help them out has already raised over $24,000, close to the goal of $27,000.
Ran Albright and Erich Kronschnabel are members of the band.
Despite what happened, they’re staying positive and have enjoyed seeing all of the support they’ve received.
“Really for no second did we ever really consider stopping,” Albright said. “As soon as it happened, you know, obviously you have the emotional trauma of the whole thing, of you know we lost everything. But the whole conversation was what do we do next? How do we bounce back from this, how do we move forward?
If this happens to you, don’t quit,” Kronschnabel said. “Rely on your community and do what you can. And it’ll work out, if you’re a little lucky and you have good people around and a good support system.”
The band will make their return to Raleigh on September 12th, performing at the Lincoln Theater.
