New training solution for realistic gas detection simulation

Emergency response teams across sectors such as fire services, mining, and industry face ongoing exposure to hazardous gases and rely heavily on accurate gas detection tools.

As reported by Argon Electronics, this growing need for safe, realistic training has led Dräger, a major player in gas detection technology, to partner with Argon Electronics to produce a new series of multi-gas detection training simulators.

This collaboration aims to equip rescue teams with simulated tools that closely mimic Dräger’s X-am 2×00 and 5×00 series detectors.

The simulators replicate the functionality and alarm features of actual Dräger X-am gas detectors, enabling safe yet realistic training experiences.

These tools are particularly beneficial for emergency responders who depend on precise gas detection in high-risk environments, with configurations available to match real-world detection parameters.

Dräger’s training simulators allow users to customise settings, including alarm thresholds and simulated gases, to mirror operational detectors.

This level of configurability means that the simulators can cater to various scenarios encountered by emergency responders, providing flexibility in training across different risk profiles.

To simulate real-world conditions, the detectors incorporate Argon’s Ultra Sonic beacons, compatible with their Chemical Warfare simulators.

This feature allows for advanced, multi-detector exercises, further supporting emergency responders in realistic operational simulations without exposure to actual hazards.

Dräger’s Global Product Manager for portable gas detection, Rüdiger Weich, stated: “I am very happy that the powerful portfolio of Personal Air Monitoring gas detectors of Dräger X-am series are accompanied now with a safe, realistic and useful training simulator from Argon Electronics.

This will help many of our customers to train even better for their important jobs in rescue in the Fire Service, Mine Rescue teams and industrial environments.”

Weich, who is also an active firefighter in HazMat teams, highlighted the importance of realistic training for emergency preparedness.

Argon Electronics’ founder, Steven Pike, shared similar sentiments: “I am delighted Argon was selected as a partner to create this superb training system.

“Dräger are the latest in a long line of detector manufacturers we have had the pleasure to collaborate with delivering world class CBRN and HazMat training solutions for use by emergency responders and specialist agencies on a global basis.”

Argon’s CBRN and HazMat simulators are designed to make training setup quick and adaptable, allowing exercises to be conducted in a variety of settings with minimal preparation time.

According to Argon, the simulators are also environmentally friendly, enabling safe training without the use of harmful materials.

These training solutions provide emergency responders with the flexibility to conduct exercises under various conditions, allowing for essential skills to be refined without exposing participants to the dangers associated with hazardous substances.

Dräger and Argon Electronics have launched a new series of multi-gas detection training simulators to meet the growing need for realistic training in emergency response.

These simulators mimic Dräger’s X-am 2×00 and 5×00 series detectors, allowing for safe, configurable, and realistic training experiences.

Argon’s Ultra Sonic beacons, compatible with Chemical Warfare simulators, enhance multi-detector exercises.

Dräger’s Global Product Manager, Rüdiger Weich, and Argon’s Managing Director, Steven Pike, highlighted the collaboration’s benefits for global emergency responders.

Argon’s simulators also enable safe, environmentally friendly, and flexible training scenarios.
